Train Design
The Chengdu Luxury Panda Train is a moving masterpiece of Tianfu culture and Eastern aesthetics, seamlessly blending cultural heritage, fine dining, leisure, and luxury accommodations. Inspired by China’s famous mountains, including Gongga Snow Mountain and Xiling Snow Mountain, the train’s exterior features classical glazed blue with flowing golden lines, subtly incorporating the “Sunbird” motifs from Chengdu’s Jinsha culture. Inside, traditional elements such as hibiscus, ginkgo, and bamboo harmonize with modern art, creating a serene, sophisticated new-Chinese aesthetic. Nearly 60 pieces of national intangible cultural heritage—including Shu embroidery, Shu brocade, and bamboo weaving—are displayed throughout the train, transforming it into a traveling art gallery.
The 18-car train, converted from a conventional green train, features 54 guest rooms accommodating 108 passengers (up to 132 at maximum). Suites include ensuite bathrooms, smart home systems, independent refrigerators, and ultra-quiet design, ensuring privacy and comfort. Standard rooms offer king-size or twin beds, and some suites can be adapted for three-person family use.
Onboard, passengers enjoy panoramic observation lounges, tea rooms, cigar lounges, KTV, multifunction entertainment cars, and fine dining with both Chinese and Western cuisine prepared by professional chefs. Embark on a grand Silk Road journey across Northern and Southern Xinjiang, precisely timed between May and September to experience the most breathtaking season. Over 16 days, traverse snow-capped ranges, vast grasslands, desert oases, ancient bazaars, and emerald alpine lakes—Kashgar Old City, Nalati Grasslands, Hemu Village, Kanas Lake, Tianshan Ranges, and more. Train Design
The Silk Road Dream Train is a moving luxury resort and cultural gallery on rails, designed for both comfort and immersive experiences. The train was refurbished by CRRC Qingdao Sifang, consisting of 15 cars: 10 private suite cars with ensuite bathrooms and 4 multifunctional cars, including 2 dining cars, totaling 38 VIP guest rooms with a maximum capacity of 80 passengers. Each suite features king-size or twin beds, and some can be adapted as family rooms. Two 22-square-meter luxury suites feature independent panoramic soaking tubs and elegant furnishings, allowing guests to relax in ultimate comfort while enjoying the passing scenery.
The train features China’s first multifunctional 270-degree panoramic windows, tested for over 600 hours to meet rigorous safety standards. Equipped with constant-temperature electric heating, the windows can defog and de-ice, ensuring uninterrupted scenic views regardless of weather. The train’s exterior was hand-painted under the guidance of the Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, incorporating Han dynasty cloud patterns in a turquoise-green landscape palette accented with lacquer red, conveying elegance and tranquility.
Guided by the concept of a “moving high-end resort,” the Silk Road Dream Train integrates the cultural essence of the ancient Han Silk Road with modern aesthetics. Designed by the globally renowned HBA design studio, the train combines Eastern artistic sensibilities and Silk Road heritage, creating an immersive experience of nature and culture along the route. The interior includes a hotel-style boarding lobby, oversized panoramic windows, art collections, and antiques, as well as high-end pianos and meticulously crafted furniture. Passengers can enjoy multifunctional lounges, tea rooms, KTV, and Chinese-Western fine dining, making the train a destination in itself.

The Starlight Lancang–Mekong is a boutique cross-border luxury train launched in 2024, designed to merge tropical aesthetics with contemporary comfort. The 12-car train consists of 30 private guest suites, accommodating up to 60 passengers, each attended by 24-hour professional butler service. All cabins feature independent bathrooms with dry-wet separation, intelligent control systems, multimedia entertainment, and custom furniture by Poltrona Frau, the esteemed Italian luxury sofa brand.
